I've just acquired the first AGM sten to come into the country. Walked through the gates at W&P and handed over £200 within 5 mins.
Done a quick test on it. Its got good range. and is full metal. supplied with the lipo battery but the charger is tempermental.
I'll give it a proper going over tomorrow, and stick up a review.

Aaaargh! Who from? Tell us more!!!!!!!

Airsoft world are currently selling 35 at W&P, Exclusively at the show. With a second shipment arriving soon, for online sales.
They came into the country yesterday from speaking to the guys.
few quick pics for your viewing pleasure

Does the AGM on sale at Beltring have the hop adjuster of the ver.2 Viva?
aka Stigroadie

AFRA
better by design
"Truth is a shining goddess, always veiled, always distant, never wholly approachable, but worthy of all the devotion of which the human spirit is capable. "
That looks nice.
More detailed close ups are needed though!
Good to see that they have not just copied the Viva but made improvements like the mosfet. Hop omission ain't good though.
(if that is the case - I'll if I can get a look tomorrow at W&P.
Oh, and a 280rnd winding mag? If this gun does take standard MP40 mags then this will mean MP40 users will now have the option of 280rnd mags as well as 110 and 50.

Interesting that it works sideways, which is a problem with most hicaps.
Dont know anything about a winding mag..mines a standard AGM MP40 mag i believe. This a a copy of the VIVA Sten v1. But does have some improvements. There is also the option of putting an adjustable AK hop-up,in there. I'll need to break it down to really see whats inside it.
The guy at AW was really excited about them.
Im just charging the battery at the moment, so i'll give it a proper go in a while. I'll also have it running at caen.
Yes, sorry to confuse - the 280 round winding mag comes with the new SRC MP40 but will clearly be of use to Sten users (if it works as DM points out!)

So it doesn't come with a hop? It'll need to be a custom AK hop up to access ammo from the side, any idea where we can get these?
Exactly...these are so new that the guys at Airsoft World haven't had one to take apart. As the entire first shipment of 35 units went to W&P.
Im having some issues with the trigger connections. it sometimes wont fully cycle the gearbox. Spoke to them over the phone, just have to wait until next week for them to get one from the stock and investigate the issue.
Not a major problem. The guns got excellent range at 100ft with the grouping average at that distance, so the lack of an adjustable hop up doesn't appear to be an issue.
The range without an adequate hop is probably down to the Chinese sticking to an ancient Chinese airsoft proverb - "When in doubt, Confucius say fit a big feck off spring in your aeg". It'll interesting to see what kind of fps they chuck out.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I think that's a rather vain hope to be honest. If the hicap mag is designed to work one way around it almost certainly won't work another way.
In fact looking at the mags in the SRC MP40 video they look significantly different from the AGM ones anyway.
FFS, when will they produce a bleeding AEG Garand!?!!?
the day they start producing things that are useful for the Americans
Children are our future, unless we act NOW!
Hey Guys,
my apologies for not letting you know in advance of their arrival but we weren't sure they were going to arrive in time for the show. Anyhoo, they are here now, don't need hop units in our honest opinion and we are sourcing a better quality battery pack for it which will be included at no extra charge. AGM actually phoned me on my mobile at the show to tell us of the battery issues they are experiencing, although I didn't understand exactly what they meant by "it go bang, exlode house down, kill 20 people, go to live jail now", anyway, enjoy your Sten ![]()

Glad to see you've kept it under £200.
Only downside? My Viva Sten has just depreciated significantly!

I did warn everyone about the rip-off pricing from Viva
Patience can often be profitable ![]()
Not to worry, you are obviously minted and used the Viva as a cash laundering facility, so you're not that daft........

I'm not poor, if that's what you mean.
It was nice to have one of the first in the UK, if nothing else.
I'm still happy with my Viva, it's made of nice materials and shoots well, so I'm not disappointed with it at all, not even the price I paid for it. What the AGM one means is that there is now another authentic, affordable WW2 weapon out there for people and that's got to be a good thing.

Yup. I'm still very happy with my viva. It shoots really nicely indeed and feels right.
I've not seen an AGM one yet, once I do we'll see if my mind changes.
I can't see how you can possibly think that the lack of a hop unit is not a problem.
